Gifted with Words

All are gifted but not all are given the same gifts. I myself can very well prove that. I really wanted to sing but unfortunately the tunes don’t come out right. I wanted to dance but it seems I was born with two left foot.

And maybe so some we…like in my college years, some are gifted in numbers while others are gifted with words. Back then, I was educated to become a person supposedly be good with numbers but I was known to write well and play fairly well with figures. Then when writing projects were needed to be done, I was always to be counted upon. Of course, I do all projects with pay. That’s how I paid for my own without asking my parents help.

Nowadays, you can have your thesis, essays, dissertation projects and other writing needs be done online. You can get professional work at an affordable price and can still be rest assured that what you have is 100% plagiarism free and unique. So, if you needed to have some help on your next term paper, research paper or other coursework’s writing project or maybe a professional editing perhaps, you might want to avail the online services offered by Custom-Writing.org. They have been awhile for now, helping students cope-up with project workloads specifically in writing and editing projects. They writers are definitely gifted with words. You can buy essay also at the most least cost.

Hopes for this Blog

Google made a recent update. Unfortunately, this blog of mine was not granted a Page Rank yet. Though, it’s just fair since my domain is new (even my blog is old), I still find myself in a position of being sad. Since blogging is the only way I earn for the family, having no Page Rank means lesser opportunity.

There are blog companies that also accept blogs with no Page Rank but my blog is not one of those yet. Most of them wanted a considerable incoming links or traffic. Anyway, though in both factors, this blog is still struggling I am praying that it would still receive tasks every now and then and hopefully be approved at some companies I have applied for.

The only thing I can do now...is hope.

Spreading Creativity

Digital Life Scraps was tagged by Anything and Everything in Between. Thanks Mommy Vhiel!!

So, since I think this blog is creative...I am hoping that it would spread itself also. Heheheh...

“In most people’s vocabularies, design means veneer. It’s interior decorating. It’s the fabric of the curtains and sofa. But to me, nothing could be further from the meaning of design. Design is the fundamental soul of a man-made creation that ends up expressing itself in successive outer layers of the product or service.”
By Steve Jobs, Apple Computer.

Here's my story:

I am not really that creative. I bumped into a free digital scrapping software, some nice elements, PhotoShop CS2 and tadah!! Got so addicted to it and somehow grew it as a hobby.

1. Copy the graphics designed by Cathy and then tell us your story about how you came to start designing. It doesn't matter if it's "for your eyes only" or you are designing for somebody.
2. Come back here and leave your link where you posted the story. I will add your blogs to the master list. If you have more than 1 blog you need to post the tag to your other blogs as well.
3. Passed it to people you know who makes beautiful crafts.
4. Make sure that you come back here to get the updated list of bloggers who joined the tag. This is a good way to increase our rankings on Technorati at the same time we get to read great stories.

The Hippopotamus and the Tortoise

This story was emailed by my friend Zerisse of Deranged Insanity. Since the story is very inspiring and made us misty eyed, I would to share it here.

The Hippopotamus and the Tortoise

'Much of life can never be explained, but only witnessed' - Rachel Naomi Remen, MD

NAIROBI ( AFP ) - A baby hippopotamus that survived the tsunami waves on the Kenyan coast has formed a strong bond with a giant male century-old tortoise in an animal facility in the port city of Mombasa , officials said The hippopotamus, nicknamed Owen, and weighing about 300 kilograms (650 pounds), was swept down Sabaki River into the Indian Ocean , then forced back to shore when tsunami waves struck the Kenyan coast on December 26, before wildlife rangers rescued him.
'It is incredible. A less-than-a-year-old hippo has adopted a male tortoise, about a century old, and the tortoise seems to be very happy with being a 'mother',' ecologist Paula Kahumbu, who is in charge of Lafarge Park, told AFP.
'After it was swept away and lost its mother, the hippo was traumatized.
It had to look for something to be a surrogate mother.
Fortunately , it landed on the tortoise and established a strong bond.
They swim, eat and sleep together,' the ecologist added.

'The hippo follows the tortoise exactly the way it followed its mother.

If somebody approaches the tortoise, the hippo becomes aggressive, as if protecting its biological mother,' Kahumbu added.

'The hippo is a young baby, he was left at a very tender age and by nature, hippos are social animals that like to stay with their mothers for four years,' he explained.

'Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.'

This is a real story that shows that our differences don't matter much when we need the comfort of another.

We could all learn a lesson from these two creatures, 'Look beyond the differences and find a way to walk the path together.'
Hope you enjoy this beautiful story!

Reflections on Last Sunday's Word

I haven’t been in church since I have arrived here at my hometown, not until last three Sundays ago. There’s a church near our house and it’s just a walking distance away. Since a blogger always stays up late, attending a church near my house is already a blessing.

Anyway, since the first day I went to church, the Pastor started discussing about Matthew 5 specifically The Beatitudes. He discussed it by verses. Last Sunday, we are already tacking verses 5 and 6. In the New International Version, it says:
5 - Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
6 - Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Though these verses are very familiar to us, I was really enlightened how God used Pastor to discuss the verses in a very unique and new way.

At verse 5, Jesus talked about meekness. Meekness is somehow defined as power under control. You know that you have the power, you know you have the right, you know you can do it but you choose not to fight back, wage war, show power because in doing so, you will not glorify God. Sometimes people think that if a person doesn’t fight back, he or she is called a coward. But in this context, choosing to be meek is choosing to do the will of God. If you know that fighting does not glorify God but only glorifies yourself, choosing not to indulge would be a wise decision though it’s really hard when people challenges us and touches our ego. I myself am having a hard time with being meek. I only pray to God that He will put me under control always so that He will be lifted up! Jesus promised that if you choose to be meek, you will inherit the earth. This is so general and no specifics but earth usually connotes material blessings or generally blessings. So, if you choose to follow God, you will receive blessings from Him.

At verse 6, here Jesus talked about being hungry and thirsty not for food and water but for righteousness. Seeking God’s will in our life is considered being hungry and thirsty for God’s righteousness. Sometimes when we are having a lot of trouble in our life, we tend to focus on it more than seeking God’s will and help. Jesus once said that seek first the Kingdom of God and all these things shall be added to you. So as His word says, if you seek Him or hunger for His righteousness, you will be filled and provided for. Actually, seeking God is a decision you can only make. No one can force us. For me, seeking God is an easy way to say it but very hard to do. When you decide to seek God, be sure to ask for His grace that you can continue with your decision because sometimes, when you decide to seek God, challenges floods in to test you.

Verse 5 and 6, has commands but all ends with a great promise. After the sermon, I never thought of seeing these verses in another perspective. Surely God’s Word is new every morning! I am happy that I was able to hear, the action part is what’s left for me to do. Hopefully God will be with us as we decide to be meek and decide to seek Him.

Sky Watch 4

Today is July 18, 2008. A Brazilian predicted that our beautiful country will experience a 8.1 earthquake, thousands of people will die. Though the day isn't over yet, we are hoping that this prediction will not come true.

This picture was taken on top of our house just this morning. The sun is up and shining brightly. If you would notice that there is something near the sun. I guess the sun is not alone in the sky today. The sun has a companion, the moon and the…UFO?? Hehehe….

Simple Toots

I am really happy that finally by God’s grace, my kids and I were able to go to church last Sunday. It’s been awhile that the children went to church. So as a parent, I know it is our sole duty to bring them in God’s love.

Aside from that, I am also happy that I have finally changed my lay-out of my main blog. Though it’s simple, it now loads faster than the previous one and most of my friends say, more organized. We all know that as moms, it’s hard to organize.

Of course, I am happy because I am able to participate again at Tuesday Toot even though its already Wednesday here. The email reminder really is something. Thanks very much admin!!

Group Bible Studies

Just last Sunday, the Pastor of the church where I am attending to right now mentioned about having group Bible studies at some barangays here in the city. But the problem was some new church volunteers don’t know how to prepare a topic yet. They are very willing to conduct a group Bible study but they have no idea yet on what topic to discuss and how.

So, Pastor told them that there’s no need to worry because aside from God that will faithfully guide them, he will conduct the Bible study first and train them how to do it so that later on they would know how to conduct one.

As for the topics, it’s not really easy to prepare one. It takes a lot of time, research and study. But I guess it wouldn’t be a problem since many Bible study guides are available. One of those that are well renowned is from Hensley Publishing. They have plenty of topics to choose from. They also have group Bible study guides specifically designed for children, women, teens and men. Some topics also include character studies, finances/stewardship, college and career, counseling, marriage/family and many more. With so many topics to choose from, I guess the volunteers will have no problem on what to discuss.

Before, I used to conduct a Bible study but after some unavoidable events that happened in my life, I was not able to pursue it. Now, I have no plans yet since I am new to my church but hopefully, I pray that God will find a way to use me again to serve Him.

Not by Bread Alone

Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)

Food is essential and so as the word of God. It’s an establish fact that once we don’t eat, we feel weak, get sick and even die. That works exactly the same if we don’t take anything spiritual. We become weak - we tend to be heartless, selfish and easily gets into temptation.

That is why as Christians, God implore as to seek Him always - read the Bible and go to church - because without God, we are plainly nothing. We can’t do anything to ourselves.

Honestly, I have been out of church for a long time. I should say it’s not a healthy spiritual diet. I felt lost and so disorganized. I hope I can go to church always. It’s hard to be apart from God.

Holding on to Faith

courtesy of jillsarizona at flickr

Though my blog is active, I have opted to keep a low profile yesterday and today. I have limited my blog hopping and dropping session because I am sick right now and so as my baby David. Well, I might be over stressed and my baby must have gotten it from his cousin who had a fever earlier this week. I slept the whole afternoon and after dinner just to recuperate from my weak body but woke up around 11pm to finish some tasks.

After finishing one task, I went near my son. I cried and asked God to help us. I have financial and marital problems and now this – physical. Many things have happened and now, challenges are still overwhelming me. When it rains! It really pours! I cried because I felt so helpless. Without God’s help, I am nothing because I cannot do this on my own.
Lord, I do not question why these things are happening but I trust you that you have something in store for me in the future. You promised that you have great plans for me and even for my children and that is not to harm us but give us a future. Lord, I hold on to your promise. Help us get through this trials successfully. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Stylish and Affordable

I used to wear corrective eyeglasses before because of some minor eye problem. I dreaded wearing it because it looked too old fashioned. But oh well, I have no choice but to wear it because I needed too and besides, it was very expensive. My father would be angry at me if I don't.

But if I were to have the same problem now, I wouldn’t complain if I get stylish prescription glasses at zennioptical.com. They have the widest array of affordable and trendy prescription glasses. You wouldn’t find it hard to choose something you want.

A Blessed Toot

It’s been awhile since I made a Tuesday Toot at my other blog. So, I decided to have my toot here because this blog is what I want to toot about. ;)

Anyway, I am really happy that this blog was brought forth. My main blog was full of emotion; I vent all my pains and my hardships there. So, I wanted a blog that I could blog about keeping the faith. Being in a very depressing moment, I wanted to create a blog that would remind me about the other side of life – the brighter side in the Lord’s arm. This blog also contains love letters to my children about the things I wanted to tell them but they are still young to understand. So as not to forget it, might as well blog about it and someday they will read and understand why. I am really happy with this blog.

Aside from the birth of this blog, I have finally finished the layout of my digital scrapping blog and my daughter’s blog. It took me too long but I am glad I have tick two numbers down in my to-do-list.

MicsArt

Well, I hope to be back more next week for more tooting!!

His Word Lives Forever

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (Matthew 24:35)

This verse is very comforting. All the hurts, the pain, the hungry stomach, the suffering and war…all bad things will pass away but the promises of the Lord will surely endure forever! Rest assured that in every storm, there would be rainbow. In every tear, there would be laughter. For short, there is always hope that God would keep all the promises He has in the Bible.

In my life right now, it seems the world have closed down on me. I am buried in my financial debts (long story), having a rocky marriage (nearing another break-up again), no stable job and sometimes no task to augment our daily needs. BUT!! I am praying that God will see me through these things. There is one promise found in the Bible that I don’t dare to forget. It’s in Jeremiah 29:11 and it says, “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” With this promise, I hold it firmly inside my heart. That God will not allow me nor do my children stay in this situation forever. Someday with God’s grace and blessing we will rise up and stand as a testimony to His goodness.
Dear Lord, thank you very much for everything. We know that in due time You will answer our prayer. Heaven and earth may pass but we are assured Your Word will endure forever. You will keep our promise and we will hold fast to it. Give us strength so that we do not become weary but give us joy that we might wait eagerly with happiness. In Jesus name we pray, Amen!

Church at Last

After being here in Cagayan de Oro for a month plus already, I have finally gone to church today! This is a great blessing for me since I was not able to go to church in Bacolod too. My life there was so secluded and didn’t want to go out from the house because of my swelling eyes. Yup, I always shed tears during weekends because that’s the time my husband goes outside the house, not for work, but for his vices. He goes home the next day, Sunday, around 6:00am or 9:00pm.

But today, there is no excuse for me not to go. Though I lacked sleep, not going would because of that is just so lame. Unfortunately, I was not able to go with my children. They woke up late and didn’t want to wait upon them because it would be late for if I would. Anyway, it was my first time at that church and I also checked if they have a Sunday School for children. Well, they had and a very nice one too. I felt regret in my heart for not bringing them since it’s the parents (or in my case, me) responsibility to bring their children in the Lord. By God’s grace next Sunday, I am planning to wake them up early so that they can come with me and worship the Lord together though we are not a complete family but someday we might be in His due time.

Hoping for Paris

Every time I surf the net, I see many beautiful places from different countries. It amuses me to see God’s wonderful creations. And one of the most beautiful places that I hoped to see someday is Paris. Not that it’s the capital city of love and romance but because truly is a wonderful place to be. The Eiffel Tower and many delicious looking foods are also the reason why the place is definitely a tourist destination.

When I checked on hotel Paris accommodations, I have found out that they also have a bed and breakfast Paris. By far, this is the affordable way to stay there. It can also offer you a taste of how people live there and their cultures are. So if I will be given a chance to go to there, I would surely love a bed breakfast Paris! I already gathered great information from BedandBreakfastParis.biz. Better be ready, we don’t know when the blessings might come in.

Johann David Means...

After the sister comes the little brother. The following is what they have for Johann David’s hidden meaning:

You are fair, honest, and logical. You are a natural leader, and people respect you. You never give up, and you will succeed... even if it takes you a hundred tries. You are rational enough to see every part of a problem. You are great at giving other people advice.

You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life. You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you. At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.

You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out. Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia. Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are balanced, orderly, and organized. You like your ducks in a row. You are powerful and competent, especially in the workplace. People can see you as stubborn and headstrong. You definitely have a dominant personality.

You are very hyper. You never slow down, even when it's killing you. You're the type of person who can be a workaholic during the day... and still have the energy to party all night.
Your energy is definitely a magnet for those around you. People are addicted to your vibe.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

Real Meaning:

Johann David was born 3 years after her sister Micah Izabel. Just as the same, his name was also chosen based on the meaning it holds. But this time, there were other reason that was put into consideration, the future. The Hebrews name their children on what they want the child will be when he or she grows up or what the child has caused the parents. Like them, I was did some prophetic gestures too. I chose my baby boy’s name meticulously because I wanted him to become a musician for the Lord.

Johann was derived from the famous composer/organist Johann Sebastian Bach of Germany. This name has its origin coming from Germany and is pronounced as "YO-hahn." The name means God is Gracious. Every time I see Johann, I am always reminded that God is indeed a gracious God.

David on the other hand is obviously from the famous musician in the Bible named King David. The origin of this name is also Hebrew meaning beloved. Of course, he is my son. Indeed he is my beloved musician!

From the combination of his name – Johann David, I am sincerely praying that someday he would grow up and play an instrument and even sing for the Lord.

To David: Just as what I sincerely pray, I hope to see you play the music God has prepared in your heart. Your name is special, just like you. It was chosen with a mom’s honest desire for his son to grow in the Lord.

Online Blessings

Ever since, I really wanted to stay at home and be with the kids. Though I don’t consider myself as an ideal mom, I wanted to be there when every milestone happens. From a fairly paying job, I took the risk of resigning and staying at home though our finances was really tight.

Since I have a PC at home and an internet access, I started to search for ways and means to earn online. There were many offers but most of them scammed me. I felt so bad. Then a friend invited me to submit this online diary of mine to a company that sells blog advertising. She told me that she was able to buy things for her children from her income in doing blog reviews. Since I was fairly new at blogging back then, I don’t know how paid blogging really works. So I took time and checked on the company she told me and there I was able to meet PayPerPost.

PayPerPost or widely known as PPP is a two year old company that helps bloggers earn from blogging. It utilizes social media marketing to create online buzz for companies to advertise their products and services. Like my friend, this company has helped many people earn a decent and legal extra income from home.

Desperately in need of an income, I didn’t think twice. I grabbed the opportunity and signed myself as a postie. After a few days wait, I was approved.

Such blessings of friendship are only found in real friends. My sincerest gratitude goes to her and PPP, having this great opportunity to earn online is such a blessing. Without her introducing me to this awesome company, the possibility of earning online legally would be dark and hopeless.

God bless you both!

Micah Izabel Means...

According to Blogthings, my daugther's hidden meaning of her name is as follows:

You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated. You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want. You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way!

You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily.
You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind. A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out. Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia. Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person.

Real Meaning:

Being a the mother, carefully chose their names according to their meaning, here is a small background history of her name's true meaning:

Micah was taken from the author of the book of Micah in the Bible. Actually this is a boys name with Hebrew origin that means "who is like God" or "who resembles God." It is pronounced as MYE-cah.

We have chosen this one because it's from the Bible. But personally, I picked the name Micah because of it's meaning. Not that I want my daughter to act like God but for her to someday grow up and imitate the good attributes of God.

Izabel is of Spanish and Latin origin. It was taken from it's original form Izabel which also have Elizabeth as it's Hebrew variant which means "God's promise." It is also pronounced as iz-a-bel.

I have chosen this one as her second name because I don't want to forget God's promises in my life or even in ours. She will daily remind me that God keeps his promises. The "s" became "z" because of her aunt Zarah. Who already thought that Micah will someday be called "Iza" when she grows up to be a teenager.

To Micah: Hope you liked the history why you name was chosen. Be proud that your name was not chosen just because of simple giving you a name but we carefully thought about it to make it very special.

The Lord is the Examiner of Hearts

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? "I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve.” (Jeremiah 17:9-10)

In life, we encounter ourselves in a situation that our hearts have become deceitful. We do fool ourselves and others just because of the dishonesty we are harbor in our hearts. Sometimes we well-wish a friend for a greater success but we envy them deep inside.

The Lord our God is not blind. People see what the eyes can but He can see directly into our hearts. He knows how we are and what we truly are. Everything we do, He measures according to the hearts’ true nature.
Lord, as there are times that I may have felt deceitfulness in my heart, please forgive me. Make me a person of honesty. Do not allow dishonesty to reside in my heart but let Your goodness, kindness and truth. Guide me Lord that my heart will feel according to Your heart’s desire. This I sincerely pray, in Jesus name, Amen!
