New Year. New Pair.

Some times when New Year comes, we get into the habit of buying new things; changing the way we look, change our attitude or even change life’s perspective. A New Year always comes with a new hope in many things.

Anyway, if you are hoping to change your looks by wearing a new pair of eyeglasses, I guess you don’t have to fret about the expenses that come with it. Zenni Optical, the popular online store that sells the famous $8 prescription eyeglasses has come up with an inventory of beautiful holiday frames! Though the price will vary depending on the frames you want because of the materials used, but still you get the most affordable pair of spectacles. They have lined-up a set of designs and colors for the holiday season such those with red, green, yellow and gold. Anyway, you can chose from many colors and designs if you are not up into wearing frames with holiday colors.

Here are several designs that I find to be fashionable and have a commendable price.

I like this red with white lacey ribbon/snowflake design. Christmas lace and snowflakes designs adorn the temple of this medium narrow full rim holiday frame.

Another one is this winter blue frame front with a cute design of skaters on outdoor ice shown on the temples. This holiday frame also has a medium narrow in width.

So, if you are interested in buying new pairs, I suggest you visit ZenniOptical.com today. They have more great designs.

Guiding Thoughts for 2009

In few hours, it will be 2009. It will be another year, another hope for a better future. So, what is up for the New Year? What are your plans? Have you penned them down? What are your thoughts? How would you go through it?

Anyway, here are some tips an unknown author have written as we face 2009. ^_^

1. Faith is the ability to not panic.

2. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you pray, don't worry.

3. As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling home every day.

4. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.

5. Silence is often misinterpreted, but never misquoted.

6. Laugh every day. It's like inner jogging.

7. The most important things in your home are the people.

8. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open.

9. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.

10. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.

11. We do not remember days, but moments. Life moves too fast, so enjoy your precious moments.

12. Surviving and living your life successfully requires courage. The goals and dreams you're seeking require courage and risk-taking. Learn from the turtle -- it only makes progress when it sticks out its neck.

13. Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

14. Do the math. Count your blessings.

15. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.

16. Dear God: I have a problem. It's me.

17. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be still so He can untangle the knot.

I guess I needed these too, especially untangling the knot!!

Scenic Sunday 9

This should have been my entry last week but I was not able to post it because I was late. Now, I am late again! I guess it’s better to be late by a few hours than not posting at all. ^_^

This picture was taken at Bayabas Beach in Cagayan de Oro during my son's birthday. It's still part of Mindanao but I am not sure which part it is.

So, how did your week go? I hope you will have a blast this coming New Year. For me, I am checking on some insurance rates online. I am thinking of having a project next year for my children’s future!

No Room

Here is another story I got from an email that was sent to me by AllWorship.com. After reading it, it made me ponder with my relationship with JESUS. Read on and see if you have ROOM.

= = = = =

No Room

The whole family was excited. It was the day they always put up their Christmas decorations. Everyone knew what their specific job was. Dad and Tommy put up the outdoor decorations. Mom put up the tree and wrapped all of the presents, and Heather did the rest of the indoor decorating.

They all started early because this was a time consuming job.

When they stopped for lunch, Dad had the lights halfway around the house, which was good, but he still had to finish putting the blinking lights on the bushes and put up the yard displays. Also, he had to put Santa and his reindeer up on the roof.

Mom was almost finished putting the ornaments on the tree. As far as she was concerned, all she had left was to put the icicles on it and spray it with snow. She could hardly wait until she finished, because she could get all of the presents out of the bedroom closet and start wrapping them. She sure hoped the kids would like all of the video games, computer software, and designer clothes she had gotten them, and that dad liked all of his new tools and hunting and fishing gear. After all, these things aren't cheap. It's a good thing she had all of those credit cards.

Heather was coming along well with her decorating, too. She had the house all decorated with Santa's, elves, reindeer, candy canes, stockings and other Christmas items, but she had several boxes left, and she was rapidly filling up all of the available space.

By late afternoon, everything appeared to be complete. All that remained was putting the empty boxes that stored the decorations back in the attic until it was time to put everything away for another year.

When they started to put the boxes up, they found one box that was still full. When they opened it, they found a nativity scene. There was Jesus, Mary and Joseph, shepherds, wise men, and animals.

They tried to find a place for them, but after looking around they decided they had no room left for Jesus and the Nativity scene.

They felt bad about it, but they were just out of room. They must have spent five minutes trying to figure out what to do. Then, someone came up with the idea to make sure they included the Jesus decorations next year, but they were afraid they would forget, so they taped a big note on the top of the box that read, "JESUS, NEXT YEAR".

Then, they all felt better.

Do you put Jesus away in the attic until it is convenient to take Him out and display Him in your life?

Do you give Him time in your life after everything else is over and done with, or do you live each day of your life for Him?

All Roads Lead Home

Having a time for the whole family is definitely a must for every parent. It’s essential to form a solid bond with your children. So, my husband and I always try to make Saturday or Sunday a family day. If financial resources allow, we go to the mall. We eat at our favorite fast food store and watch a good family movie. If we don’t have a budget, we just stay home buy snacks and turn on our DVD player to go movie marathon until the break of dawn.

All of us love watching movies both at home and in the movie theaters. Sometimes, we do a family session at YouTube to watch trailers of upcoming movies. After that, we have collected a list of our movie lineup. We decided what movie to watch in the big screen and those that we will wait for the DVD release.

Just lately, while I was passing by my friend’s blog, I saw a trailer of “All Roads Lead Home The Movie.” After seeing it, I know already convinced that I am going to watch it together with my family. It is heartwarming and has good moral values. It’s perfect for a family weekend movie getaway.

If you want to know what I am talking, watch the trailer above. I am sure you will like it too!

Still Awake

Its morning already and I am still awake. My husband and my son are all fast asleep. If I look at my work load, I am still nowhere close to 50% in accomplishing it. I have too many things to do and so little time.

Anyway, in a few moments now I am off to sleep. I need to rest for awhile because we will be going to church this afternoon. We have a guess coming over. I am pretty excited to meet him again since he was our pastor when my husband and I have decided to be in a serious relationship.

I am expecting to hear some good news from GOD today!!

Strenuous Week

I was absent from the blogging world for the past few days and was not able to update. My son was hospitalized due to a severe asthma attack. He was having a difficult time breathing that’s why we agree that he should be admitted. My husband and I spent sleepless night taking care of him. It was difficult for all of us as we are struggling physically and financially.

But now, all is well. Thank God! Our son is back and is undergoing home medication. His body is responding well with the medicines and I hope God will give him complete healing.

After experiencing a strenuous week, I was thinking of buying a bottle of Leptovox. I think my husband and I need some super foods fueling and a long weekend rest!

Light the Fire Again

As I was saying, I really need revival in my life right now. I need God to revive my dying heart. I know that nobody can refuel the fire in me but Him.

The lyrics of the song by Brian Doerksen in Light the Fire Again really express what my heart desires. Below are the lyrics of the song.

Light the Fire Again
Performed by Brian Doerksen

Don’t let my love grow cold
I’m calling out
Light the fire again
Don’t let my vision die
I’m calling out
Light the fire again

You know my heart, my deeds
I’m calling out
Light the fire again
I need your discipline
I’m calling out
Light the fire again

I am here to buy gold
Refined in the fire
Naked and poor
Wretched and blind I come
Clothe me in white
So I won’t be ashamed
Lord, light the fire again

Lord, please light the fire again!!

Being Moms

My mom is a great mother. She would just do anything to make sure we eat a descent meal everyday and that some of our immediate needs are met. She also encourage us to do things that might bring us good fortune. She is always there to support in every way.

Now that I have become a mom, I also felt that I am just like her but different in some ways because I always dream of my children doing better not only in school but in other fields. There were times that I was dreaming that my children would become contenders at the Olympics or even image models. I would love to see their face on every digital signage at our country’s major highways and buildings!

Anyway, I guess it’s not bad for mothers to dream for their children. I think it’s just part of our instinct to make sure they are the best of what they are. Push them to their fullest potential!

Computer Memory Shortage

The size of my computer memory is 1.5GB and because of my files (both documents and images) and my programs, I think I will need more. Every time I turn on the basic programs (Microsoft Word, Adobe PhotoShop CS2, Firefox, Google Chrome, Yahoo Messenger) needed in my online endeavor, I always ran out of resources. Most of the time I needed to restart my computer because it hangs.

I have been looking for cheap computer memory add-ons. I think my computer really needs another memory slot to be filled-in. If my PC could talk, he might be saying “Stop! You’re killing me!” He he he…

Online Alternatives

The first time this blog got a green bar was during the last week of September of this year. I was really happy about it because it was the only way I could get more advertisers. Unfortunately, it was abruptly taken after a few weeks. This blog wasn’t able to get hold of it even just for a month.

Anyway, one of my friends convinced me to start learning how to do some search engine optimization. He talked about conversion rate optimization, organic traffic, adsense and many more. He says that many have earned thousands of dollars a month just because of this. He said I could learn the trade too.

Well, I would love too but I am not yet that well versed. I have been online as a blogger for a year now but I am not fully educated in any other money making matters. Most of the time, because I wanted my stay-at-home career to be permanent, I still get scammed once in awhile.

Needing Revival

In the past few days, I have been feeling down. I felt unhealthy physically. I felt unhealthy emotionally. I felt unhealthy spiritually. It seems that life around me is so down that I just want to stop and don’t want to do with it anymore.

Then yesterday, when we went to church, I was really amazed on what the pastor’s wife shared during the sermon. She was talking about healthy self image! She talked about how we should see ourselves in the right perspective for God is already with us and that we were made in His image.

After hearing the sermon, I really felt different inside. I know that ever since the time my husband and I got together, I always felt insecure and my past have haunted me terribly that I couldn’t forgive myself. So every time I wanted to make things better, I always think that I couldn’t do it because I just can’t. I am also fearful that God might not accept me “again” because I was a great failure!

Anyway, I just hope that God would help me to renew myself. I totally feel so down and low. I need revival!

Heath Conscious Age

Study shows that one of the most successful businesses in this day and age is related to health. Many companies are offering health supplements, diet pills, exercise machines and many more. Why? Because of our lifestyle is shortening our lifespan. Before, people can live up to 80 years or more. Now, you are shocked with people dying at their 20s and 30s because of a heart attack or health system failure.

Anyway, I have read about Lipovox. This product is one of the diet supplements that have become so popular among many Americans because it contains the renowned 10 Super Foods (Brazilian Acai, Cayenne Pepper Fruit, Garlic, Soybeans Isoflavones, Barley, Wheatgrass, Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Alfalfa Sprouts, Flaxseed and Buckwheat) that are known to burn fat, get rid of acne and even reduce wrinkle lines. Many who have used the product have testified that they have seen evident results.

There are many products in the market that contains the 10 Super Foods but not all have been proven. So before you buy a product that claims to contain these, always check and double check it before buying. Remember, prevention is always better than cure!

Worthy Is The Lamb

This is one of my favorite worship songs. In the last few Sundays, this song was sang at our church. I really love its lyrics and it expresses how my heart is thankful for God's faithfulness in my life.

Worthy Is The Lamb
Artist: Hillsong United
Album: You Are My World

Thank you for the cross Lord
Thank you for the price You paid
Bearing all my sin and shame
In love You came
And gave amazing grace

Thank you for this love Lord
Thank you for your nail pierced hands
Washed me in Your cleansing flow
Now all I know
Your forgiveness and embrace

Worthy is the Lamb
Seated on the throne
Crown You now with many crowns
You reign victorious
High and lifted up
Jesus Son of God
Darling of Heaven crucified
Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb

Do you have a favorite worship song?

Fond of Toy Cars!

My son is fond of toy cars. He always asks us to buy him every time we get near the toy store. Last month, when we were at our hometown, we were able to pass by this baby store. We decided to look around and check for toy cars because his birthday was coming up that time. When we check the display, we were very amazed with the toy cars there. It mimics a real Ferrari! With all the Ferrari parts on it, it looks exactly the same like the real one. Since we find it very cute, we asked for the price. Shockingly, it was expensive too just like the real Ferrari! So my husband decided not buy it but we continued searching for other toy cars at the mall. Then ended up buying a Remote Controlled Monster Truck Toy!

God Hears Us

I am a subscriber of AllWorship.COM's mailing list. I got this email a few months back and I wish to share this with you all. Sometimes we feel God doesn't listen but definitely He does!
TO IT AND THRU IT

I am one of the survivors of Hurricane Charley.

As the storm approached, I prayed that God would steer it in another direction because I live in a mobile home as do my parents. But God did not honor that request and set it on a path straight to us.

My father is dying of cancer and could not possibly go to a shelter so we opted to ride out the storm all together in my mobile home.

As the winds blew, I sat and prayed and wondered if God knew what He was doing? He kept firmly in my mind that if He brings me to it, He will surely bring me thru it.

The most we suffered was a blown out screen on a porch enclosure. As thousands were without power, we never lost ours which was a TRUE blessing as my father would not have survived the heat.

My mother who was in need of a new roof on her home but, unable to afford it, was blessed--yes blessed--to have a tree come through her roof. Now insurance will provide the new roof.

The moral of this story?

When you think God does not hear let me assure you that He does...maybe just not the way you want.

Living Healthy

My husband and I are planning to send our son to attend a taekwondo class at the mall. We don’t support violence but we want our children to be sports minded. So far taekwondo is the only class offered for children at his age. And at a young age, we want them to be physically fit and live a healthy lifestyle.

Anyway, speaking about health and all, my hubby really needs to go back to the gym or take Slimquick Cleanse. He is gaining weight and developing his bulging tummy again. I am not saying that he must be physically conscious but I want him to stay fit. His lifestyle is nowhere near the word “healthy.” I still want to spend my golden years with him walking and enjoying life not inside a damp room because we are no longer fit for an active lifestyle.

Frantic Financial Friday

I should be frantic by now but I am trying to take things easy. Though I am a bit worried already, I want to keep calm. Anyway, what am I talking about?! You might be caught a little bit of hello there. Ok, here’s a little history, after I resigned from work, I brought several credit card debts with me. Well, I still have it and instead of going down, it’s increasing constantly. The sad fact right now is that I don’t have much online work which simply means that I could not pay on time and which also means that I am going to incur another set of additional interest! Aside from that, we are still having a major problem with my hubby’s ATM. We haven’t applied for a new one yet so it’s difficult to withdraw his salary. We needed to wait for three banking days.

Because of this, I always ran errands every now and then with the bank. Since the time I stayed at home, I don’t usually find myself outside only when I do groceries or spend time with the family. So sometimes when I ran my errands almost the whole day walking outside, I felt like I am having back pains and a plantar fasciitis! When I feel pain, I usually drink pain relievers and go to sleep which means I could not look for work online.

Oh well, this is just a test and in due time I know God will help us get through this. I just hope and pray that help would come very soon!

My First Christmas in Heaven

Actually, I have never been to heaven and came back. This is just the title of a poem I got from my email. But if course, I am really planning to go there. Who wouldn't want to go there, right?

Anyway, here is a poem about someone who spent his/her first Christmas at heaven. The author is unknown but I find the poem very inspirational and hopes that someday, I will be able to spend my Christmas there!

"My First Christmas in Heaven"

I see the countless Christmas trees.
Around the world below,
With tiny lights, like heaven's stars,
Reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so spectacular,
Please wipe away that tear.
For I'm spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs,
That people hold so dear,
But the sounds of music can't compare,
With the Christmas choir up here.

For I have no words to tell you,
The joy their voices bring.
For it is beyond description,
To hear an angel sing.

I can't tell you of the splendor,
Or the peace here in this place.
Can you just imagine Christmas,
With our Savior, face to face?

I'll ask Him to light your spirit,
As I tell Him of your love;
So then pray for one another,
As you lift your eyes above.

Please let your heart be joyful,
And let your spirit sing.
For I'm spending Christmas in Heaven,
And I'm walking with the King!

I know how much you miss me;
I see the pain inside your heart.
But I'm not so far away,
We really aren't apart.

So be happy for me, dear ones,
You know I hold you dear,
And be glad I'm spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year.

I send you each a special gift
From my heavenly home above.
I send you each a memory
Of my undying love.

After all "love" is the gift,
More precious than pure gold.
It was always most important
In the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other
As my Father said to do,
For I can't count the blessings
Or the love He has for you.

So have a Merry Christmas and
Wipe away that tear.
Remember I'm spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year!

Apologies and Updates

I have been very busy lately. I have been studying how to migrate a blogger blog to a self-hosted wordpress blog. Unfortunately, I am not yet finished with it. I have the ideas and the theories but I am quite not so sure yet. Don’t want to mess up my blog just because of my innocence. I will try to study more and maybe migrate within the month or next year. So please forgive me for not being so active in blog hoping back to your site and even participating in my favorite memes and online studies. But I shall return soon. Missed you all though!

Since I have been very busy with my online and offline life, I was seriously thinking of getting a health insurance. My health is one of the things that have been placed under compromise. I stay up late and even work more than 24 hours. Oh well, since I don’t have the money for it yet. Avoiding to much stress would be the best solution for now but how can I? Stress is part of my life already!

Oh well, I guess life should be taken slowly and in God’s time. He knows what is the best for us.

My Father's Friend Needs Help

Just the other day, my father and I chatted about his friend at work. He said that his friend wanted to apply for work abroad. He is a champion bull rider, horse trainer and more. He wanted to look for a job that is related to his field, maybe an animal trainer or tending a horse supplies or others.

Since I don’t have any idea what kind of a job there might be for him, I opted to ask my father to tell his friend that they should send me a resume. At least with the resume, I can study the terms they used in his field and search about it.

Anyway, does anyone know what kind of job his friend might fit in? I don’t know much about specialize skills especially with bulls and horses!

Gift Giving Amidst Financial Crisis

I have been blogging about my current finances lately and still it has not improved a bit. Our family is still suffering from the great depression. Since the holidays are up, I would not want to make our financial crises as an excuse for not giving anything to my family and friends. I am planning to make personalized gifts for them. I just don’t know what but I am seriously giving much thought about this. Maybe a digital scrap would do or anything they might need my services with.

Anyway, do you have any idea what? Maybe something that would not require monetary expenses or if it does, just less?
