Finding Work Online

Just lately, I have been submitting my resume and a sample of my articles online. I was trying to look for a job that would allow me to work at home and during my country’s time zone. Though my offline experience would definitely allow me to get some sales manager jobs but still I prefer to work at home.

The freedom of time and be with my children is the best thing that ever happened to me. There are some months that I could earn the same or more than the salary I had before. Though there are some months that my earnings are low. That is the reason why I decided to look for a job online to compensate my needs if I could not find any freelance work.

I got few emails already. I am hoping that I wouldn’t be scammed by these people. The only thing that is dangerous when you look for a job online is that you can work your best for a month then when payday comes, you end-up not getting paid.

Business Thoughts

There are many things a coffee lover might want in life. One of this is a good cup of coffee but if I were given the chance, I would like to have my own coffee shop with plenty of espresso machines. Why? Because they always say a good business is when you do something you love. I love drinking coffee and I guess this business is also good for me.

What do you think?

Always Movies

Just this afternoon, my husband, my boy and I went to church. And for the year 2009, it has been my second one. I am really hoping to have more soon this year and beyond.

Anyway, after church we went to the grocery store. We bought some basic necessities like coffee, milk, sugar, Milo, bathing and laundry essentials. While I was doing the groceries, my husband and my boy were busy scanning DVDs. It’s a usual thing for us to watch movies during weekends and even weekdays. So almost every week, we spend time watching new movies. And because of this hobby, we have dozens upon dozens of movies placed in a rectangular basin just to accommodate our movie collection.

When resources become available, I am planning to window shop for some tv stands. I really think we need one now just to organize our movies. I felt like I need to bring peace to a chaotic DVD piles. But of course, this is not an immediate requirement. It might be a project in the near future.

Funny Thoughts

When you do online work, there are a lot of things that you will find yourself not be using anymore. For me, I always misplaced my ball pen because when I am in front of the PC, I don’t literally don’t need one. There are also some office supplies like calculators, rubber stamp, staplers, paper clips and others that I always have in my table but now, they are nowhere to be found because I have forgotten where they were placed. I have been using my PC rather than doing actual pen work.

Anyway, people are just lucky. Fingers don’t gain weight when they are not used all the time other than typing and clicking. LOL!!

Careful in Doing Good with Others

“Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.” (Galatians 6:1)

This verse is really true in my life. I once attempted to help someone go back to God but because the burden was heavy, it took the better of me. I ended up being away with God too! I felt tired and heavy that there were times I don’t find any happiness in going to church or even listen to Christian music.

Anyway, there is no wrong in helping other people get right with God but just make sure you are also strong within. If you’re not, it will be harder for yourself to help two people: you and the other one.

Pinoy Fear Factor

The famous reality game show Fear Factor got a local franchise here at our place called Pinoy Fear Factor. The winner will get a million pesos while those who failed the test will go home with nothing. I am not an avid fan of this game show but one time while my land lady’s son was watching, I noticed that they were not in the Philippines; they were filming the reality game series at another country, in Argentina.

Anyway, I asked why they were not doing it here in our country. Then my land lady’s son replied that there are some challenges in the program that can’t be done here because there is some safety equipment needed that are not available. Then I stayed for awhile to watch, but when I saw what they are doing like eating live mice and doing crazy things I stopped and went inside. I somehow felt that I needed to puke!

But if it were in my case, maybe I will do some of the things they are doing for a million pesos, except eating live mice! Yuck!

Slept Early Last Night

Around 10pm last night I already hit the bed and since that was already early for me, my husband asked me “Are you sleeping already?” Then I immediately answered YES!

I really don’t know why but I felt so weak since last week. I wanted to sleep always because I felt that I was not getting enough amount of rest. My friend told me that I might be experiencing fatigue because of the stress my work has brought me in the last couple of weeks.

Well, maybe he was right! I have been online almost every night working. I do researches on auto insurance quotes, life insurance, debt consolidation, financial management and other finance related topics because I have just started another blog on personal finance. If this blog is my journey to spirituality, my new blog is about my journey to a debt free and independent kind of life. I wanna blog about my discoveries and experiments to become financially successful.

Anyway, I am already awake now. Back to work doing researches, updating my blogs, tweaking php scripts and all; but on top of that, I am already preparing for my husband’s need because he is going to work today. He doesn’t usually go to work on a Saturdays but he needs to go today and the next coming weeks because they are going to start operation again. He is also busy like me.

God Loves Us, No Buts

“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5)

Sometimes in my own personal life, I always get shy asking God for something. I felt that I am sinful and if I ask, He wouldn’t bother hearing me. Then I realized that I was treating God as if He was human who finds fault in others. I didn’t realize that God is always God, His love is unconditional. He loves as no matter what. There are only times that He does not answer our prayers because He knows it’s not good for us or it is not the right time yet, not because we are sinners and we don’t deserve anything.

Lord, forgive me for being so judgmental towards your generosity and unconditional love. Thank you for making me realizes that you are God who answers prayers in your perfect time. Amen.

Ask, Seek, Knock

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)

My daughter is not with me right now. She is with my parents. She will be joining as here after the school closes. To keep open communication, I gave her a mobile phone so that I could text her anytime and I also left my laptop so that we can chat whenever she wants.

Most of the time, she chats with me when she receives bills from my creditors. She tells me the amount and when is the due date. But lately, I have been getting new mails from debt collection agencies of previous accounts. Aside from my regular monthly bills such as my credit card, old and forgotten accounts have come knocking on my door. It’s really worrying me.

Anyway, the Bible said that if you ask, it shall be given, if you seek, then you shall find and if you knock, the door will be open. Though my financial problems are overwhelming right now, I somehow felt that there is hope that all of these debts will be wiped out. I am not sure it will be gone this year 2009 but I pray to God that my debts will be lessen slowly but surely. I am praying for a debt-free and financially independent kind of life; independent from humans but dependent to God.

Hopefully, God will hear my heart’s desire as I follow Him. I know that the ultimate thing to do is SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM of GOD and all these things shall be added unto you. So, one of my goals for 2009 is to SEEK GOD first and leave my debts to Him.

Could It Be?

My tummy has gained weight by itself. Sometimes I thought that somehow (wishfully thinking) there would be diet pills specifically targeting the tummy only since my body is still quite thin. Of course, I blame it to my lifestyle because I work online; so most of the time you will find me sitting in front of my computer. And for the past few months, that is where I blamed my bulging tummy.

But lately, I am noticing something different. My breast has also gained a considerable size. I am flat chested, definitely I know when there is a change of size. So it made me wonder…could it be that there is life growing inside me? I haven’t been to the doctor but I am planning to visit if I don’t get my menstruation this month. Let’s just wait and see!

A Parallel World

As a wife-mommy blogger, I can’t help it but sometimes act as one with my blogs. If I want to put up bamboo shades at my room, I also felt like I need to put up some decorations at my blog. If I want to rearrange my room, I also felt like I need to have a blog makeover.

Anyway, I guess when you live life both offline and online, you can’t help it but act in parallel. There are some things that are done offline but can be similarly done online. Just like business cards offline, you have entrecards online. If you have a home or a personal space offline, you also have a blog or social networking profile page that acts as your online abode.

So, did you notice other things in parallel?

God Cannot be Mocked

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” (Galatians 6:7-8)

Last Sunday, our Pastor shared an email he received from a friend. It was about people who mocked God. So, I looked for a copy of this email. Here is the contents of that email.
Here are some men and women who mocked God :

John Lennon (Singer): Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said: “Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more famous than Him.” (1966).

Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil ): During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency.
Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being President, then he died.

Cazuza (Brazilian composer, singer and poet): During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ), while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: “God, that’s for you.”
He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER.

The man who built the Titanic: After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: “Not even God can sink it.”

I think you all know what happened to the Titanic.

Marilyn Monroe (Actress): She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said, “I don’t need your Jesus.”

A week later, she was found dead in her apartment.

Bon Scott (Ex-vocalist of AC/DC): On one of his 1979 songs he sang, “Don’t stop me; I’m going down all the way, down the highway to hell.”

On the 19th of February 1980, he was found dead; he had been choked by his own vomit.

Campinas, Brazil: In 2005 a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend. The mother accompanied her to the car and was worried about the drunkenness of her friends. She said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car, “My daughter, go With God and may He protect you.” She responded, “Only if He (God) travels in the trunk, ’cause inside here it’s already full.”

Hours later, news came that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died. The car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact. The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none were broken.

Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer): She said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written.

In June 2006, she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.
These are of course untimely deaths but that doesn’t mean if someone mocks God he dies. There are many ways a man can reap what he have sown. Unfortunately, these people reaped death as a consequence of mocking God.

The Internet and Cheap Auto Insurance

One of the things that I love being online is the opportunity to save time and money. If you need to research on something, you don’t have to go to a local library because you can easily search for it online. And another thing, if you want to buy something, you wouldn’t have to go window shopping physically just to compare prices.

One great example is my friend. She needed cheap auto insurance for her car. Since it’s a new year, she badly needed one. So, to save time and money from looking in every office, she found an easier way to get cheap auto insurance quote fast.

By visiting autoinsurance-4u.com, she was able to get access to cheap auto insurances quotes online. She doesn’t need to visit offices since she was able to compare prices from many other companies. She also visited iii.org and ambest.com. They too provided here with many resources to many insurance companies and not only related to auto insurance. She was also able to get insurance quotes from home, life, health, business and more.

Aside from the internet being helpful, sites like autoinsurance-4u.com, iii.org and ambest.com are example of helpful resource websites especially when it comes to cheap auto insurances quotes and others. They can help you save time from searching the net comparing prices and all. They can do it for you easily!

This Blog of Mine

It’s been awhile since I have posted my inner thoughts here. It seems that I really have forgotten the reason why this blog was put-up. This blog was supposed to be the haven where I journey my spiritual life, my thankfulness to God and other things. As months passed by instead of focusing on “….faith, life and more,” I have been posting about “more” than “faith and life.” And to be honest, this is making me guilty. I have been focused on monetizing my blog(s) rather than prioritizing my GOD! The blogger and the blog have become cold. We have backslide altogether!

Though I still feel emotionally down, by faith, I hoped for a better year. I hope to abide in God’s word in Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." I pray and hope that my personal relationship with God will be rekindled this year. And I also hope that this blog will become an instrument of reflection and unselfish love to my Savior.

If listing a New Year’s Resolution would help me focus on what to do this year in this blog, then my list would be this:

1. Write a prayerful reflection on the daily verse supplied by BibleGateway.com widget.

2. Participate at least once a week at “A Wife’s Biblical Submission” Online Bible Study.

3. Read the eBook entitled Fascinating Womanhood and try to post a personal reflection on the topics tackled.

There are a lot of things going on my mind right now but it’s already early dawn, I need to sleep first and be ready for church later. I will continue to blog my thoughts and hopes on my spiritual life and this blog later on.

Digital Photo Frames

It was last 2007 when I was introduced to digital photo frames. It was introduced by my former boss who had a concept of using wall mounted digital photo frames as a way to advertise latest promos. Then about a year later, my friend referred me to a website that sells digital photo frames for personal use and comes with sizes same as ordinary photo frames.

I was really fascinated by it and I also hoped that someday I could have my own digital photo frame to display all our family photos. Since every year, a new technology is introduced, I was glad I wasn’t able to buy last year because just recently I saw a digital photo frame from CEIVA. What they have is pretty cool because it has an HD screen. Aside from that, you can also upload pictures directly from your phone or email. And the uniqueness of them all is that it has a wireless photo plan. That means anybody from the family can send a picture direct to your digital photo frame without the use of cords or computer. It acts like a text message! Isn’t that cool?

If resources allow, I am going to buy one this year. It would be fabulous to see my children’s photo’s flashing on a digital photo frame in front of my work place!
