There are pros and cons for living in a place where it snows. The cons, you get to regularly spade off the snow right in your front yard especially when you have a car to drive out. You got to give your wheels some snow chains so you can actually drive on snow. You got to have your heater working else you will get awfully cold.

The benefits, though are priceless. you can enjoy the annual ice skating. You can build a snowman. You can throw snowballs at each other and actually enjoy, and you can use one of your burton snowboards sliding down a snow-filled mountain.

Despite the difficulties in some regions or countries, perhaps the industry that keeps flourishing is still tourism. That is because those who can afford to travel continually are not very much affected by the changes in the economy.

If you look at hiring or job placement agencies, there are still many vacancies, like Resort Clerk Jobs, pertaining to the tourism industry. They are also looking for bartenders, masseuses, and other like positions. And aside from their salaries, most people in the tourism industry earn a lot from tips and service charges.

Thankfully, the tourism industry is helping a lot of people find jobs. Otherwise, it will really be tough to survive in these trying times.

Collection Items

Different people have different liking for stuff. Although more women and girls are into collecting stuff like those displayed in a cabinet, there are also men and boys into collecting like baseball cards, toolbox items, power tools, guns and rifles, knives, model cars, model planes, etc.

There is something into collecting that makes the person have a good feeling. Call it an addiction but at least it does not affect the body system as addiction to smoking or drugs give. The pleasure of having your collection complete gives a wonderful outlook when the said collection has been completed. Isn’t that nice?

A few generations ago, people look for love nearby. Oftentimes the next-door neighbor gets to be the love of one’s life. This is especially true for people who are living a life in a county or province. Since they know each other already, most likely they understand each other’s weaknesses. More generations back, couples are betrothed by parents as early as toddlers. Some countries still behold this tradition. With the availability of the world now under our fingertips love is more reachable. For music lovers, how many times have you wished you have more songs stored in your computer? Or how many times have you complained that your supposedly favourite FM station has such a limited selection of songs?

Maybe an 8g ipod nano is what you would need. Talk about having a capacity to store at least 2,000 songs! Now you would not have enough time to listen to all the songs in a day, but for sure it is a lot better than having to listen to the same songs played over and over again on the radio!

Have you experienced bumping into someone, then suddenly you realize you forgot his or her name but you could not make yourself be caught in oblivion out of sheer embarrassment? You know you are supposed to not forget. You have had so many good times together. It has only been a few years since you last saw each other. The more embarrassing thing is, you were called by your name!

How much more can teachers memorize the names of their students especially during the first few days of the schoolyear? How about if you are in the politics, surely you do not know everyone serving the country. Why not make it easy for everyone? Use name plates!

Tough Winters

The changes in the atmosphere has allowed for some of the fiercest winters in the history of mankind. Those in the northernmost hemispheres should really prepare for the coming winter. It may not come early, but it will surely come.

At this time, home repairs should be done, including the checking of the heaters. Warm clothing should already be handy, including scarves and heated gloves if you are going outside. It is very difficult to expose yourself to such a low temperature because it is not only your health at stake—it could be your life. Yes, that is how tough the cold is. People could die. So be prepared.

Loving the Outdoors

Our kids are techie. I mean it’s a common thing with kids nowadays, right? It’s amazing how they could easily catch up with so much technicalities in a matter of minutes… something I got to learn for hours, or maybe even a couple of days. I can’t help but wonder what would be the latest technological innovations when they would become adults.

While I am happy that my kids are good at computers (computer games especially), I still would like them to have good physical exercises. While they have the energy, it would be great for them to bike, hike and even climb mountains if they have to. Outdoor activities like those would be therapeutic and is proven to be very healthy.

Of course there are investments like having to buy mountain hardwear, but it’s ok. If it makes them happy and healthy, I would gladly let them go for it.
